APPROACH

The main goal of this project was to choose a book and then redesign the visual system surrounding it. I chose the book Creating Japanese Gardens. This book presents famous gardens across Japan and introduces the elements of creating a Japanese garden. Japanese gardens have been long seen as a place of peacefulness. The layout of the book uses negative space to express tranquility. I also used graphic elements like lines and dots to elevate the hierarchy. The overall look and feel of the book is clean and peaceful.
